A Winter Day

we had a bit snow on Monday morning around Tokyo.
past 5 years it was not so cold in Japan.
that's why i feel this winter is too long and dark.

i really love to stay at home with some awesome CDs.

my cat too.

but i slowly realize that spring is coming.

SHUT UP AND PLAY THE HITS

there are so much personal feeling about LCD SOUNDSYSTEM.
i was pretty shocked when i heard the news they quit the band last year.
but luckily i could meet them in lovely city NY. who knows how i got excited. remembering that, i mean it was a best memory in 2011.

this is the documentary about the days around the band's final show directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace. it's gonna run at Sundance on January 22th. i'd like to see the whole story. prolly it'll make me cry.

enjoy, K

My top 10 movies of 2011

this year i watched a tons of movies. you never imagine that numbers.
especially the movies that i saw in New York left a stronger impression. i can feel that atomosphere at the small or the huge theater now.
i choose just 10 movies which i really wanted you to see. my taste is pretty 80's sci-fi geeky, girly or artistic from Hollywood major movies to independent ones.
although some of them have not run in Tokyo. sorry.

1.Blue Valentine by Derek Cianfrance.
2.Win Win by Thomas McCarthy.
3.Beginners by Mike Mills.
4.True Grit by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen.
5.SUPER by James Gunn.
6.Restless by Gus Van Sant.
7.PAUL by Gregg Mottola

My Top 5 Records of 2011

this year i didn't buy many records. especially i could not listen to them after 3.11.
but these records make me feel better just like old friends.

1.Metals/Feist
Metals is darker or rougher than Reminder. it probably fits thie year.

2.BLOUSE/BLOUSE

there's a certain comfort in their sound of darkeness.
3.Turtleneck & Chain/Lonely Island

i almost laughing whenever i listen to my dudes' songs.
4.Days/Real Estate

'it's real' is kinda my all time fave acoustic music.
5.Hot Sauce Committee Pt.2/Beastie Boys

i remember 'i'll communication'. this sound is close in it.
