Kamakura, Flower, and Cat

In most of Japan, the rainy season lasts from the beginning of June to July, it is moisture and sweat. Most people might think this sucks. My friend Yumiko and I visited Kamakura to stay away from that kind of feeling. Kamakura is situated in Kanagawa prefecture, less than an hour of Tokyo. It's near my town. Sometimes called the Kyoto of Eastern Japan, Kamakura has lots of temples, shrines and some beaches. It's a small city but a very popular tourist place.

At Meigetsu-in Temple, the blue season comes in June. Beautiful flowers in full bloom cover the whole hillside. But it's so crowded like hell this season. That's why this is not my most recommend spot.

Myohon-ji temple, I guess there are some friendly cats lurking here!!

Beautiful unknown flowers are everywhere. I need a flower identification APP.
Kakigori is a kind of a shaved ice dessert covered with sweet syrup. It's a sign of Summer.

Bye-Bye until autumn!

Here They Are

most excited event in my trip to NY was to see Citizens! gig at Williamsburg Music Hall. i was totally stoked you know. cuz they came to TYO last Dec, but I could not go there. they're coolest UK band and so cute. however they're not so popular in the States, (oh, that was good for me), so i could go to almost the front row. i really had a fun time to listen to their real music. i think that the kind of Japanese is only me. it's funny. their sound is a little bit electronic and rock sound... a lot of genres are mixed. i could not take their good pictures, cuz they were quite rad. i eagerly hope to see them in TYO : ) Thank you CITIZENS!, i love you guys. xo

Here I Am

hey, i can't still remember when i updated my diary last. there has been a lot of happenings since February, so I have been busy. but luckily I could visit lovely lovely city New York. that thrilled me. my trip was for about 5 days. there was not so much time. but i walked around everywhere till my legs ached. i stayed at M and J's apartment in Brooklyn near Park Slope. That was super awesome. this time i found out a lot of things which i had not done last time. i've not traveled abroad with some friends. probably i won't do that in the future. trip alone is sometimes a bit lonely. but i like the way. i could feel more people's feeling or atmosphere of the city. anyway i really enjoyed it. now i almost crying.

 i love u guys. xx

New York Diary 4

I ate out almost every day. But in that time I had a stomach ache.
Because every food was completely large for me, but it was too deliscious.
I couldn't eat all.
Therefor I often bought some items for lunch or dinner in organic superstores.
There were tons of organic superstores, I've never seen normal one.
Birdbath Bakery was amazing! It was better than City Bakery. Every bread was organic.

I wanted to go to see SNL at 30 Rock. But I gave up standing line due to traffic problem.
So I often went to NBC store. I am kind of a comedy geek girl, this place makes me feel very happy.

I hung out many museums, the American Museum of Natural Hisotary was my best one. It was extremely huge, you never believe it!
I was too tired to walk.

Please see the film "Night Museum 1", if you interested in it. That's funny.

The NEW MUSEUM in BOWERY was not so good for me, PS1 is better than it.
But I enjoyed there. It designed by architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa/SANAA.

Spoonbill & Sugartown was my best bookstore.I bought Patti Smith's photo book.
I really like Williamsburg. I hope I could live there.
Many restaurants I wanted to visit were so crowded, even though on a weekday.

MY NEW YORK DIARY 1

For a couple of years ago I met some interesting stuff of American culture.
So I've been thinking of it, Especially New York city.
Luckily at the end of February I got the ticket of LCD SOUNDSYSTEM show.
I booked 2 hotels and an airplane ticket.

But later the big quake hit Japan. It caused very serious situation in our country.
Being very depressed, I was out of my mind what was happening here.
I didn't want to give up my trip to NY, although there are a lot of problems like planning blackouts, traffic trouble, radiation. It was sure that I had a strong will.

I chose Continental Airlines, because it has widely seats and tons of movies.

My choice was true. I enjoyed my flight and saw BLACK SWAN, TRUE GRID, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL(so funny), THE FIGHTER, MARY & MAX(only 30minutes), LITTLE FOCKERS.

Maybe these pics were across the North Pole. How amazing!

Arriving Newark Airport, I lost to my hotel in Brooklyn because I never knew New York huge city.
But a very very kind black woman who is a gospel singer took me to the B&B.
The B&B I stayed was very cozy, and all staff was very friendly.
I mean most Newyorker were like that.

My cozy room.
